Jab Kabhi Mud Ke Dekhta Hoon Main - Hip Hip Hurrey - Gulzar, Vanraj Bhatia, Bhupinder Singh, Asha Bhosle

One of my most favorite #Breakup song, specially in the way the words have taken the context of the script and the situation of the characters.

The lovers are parting with sadness yet not much of ill-feelings for each other, as they have opted a separate path of life, for their personal gains/reasons. Hero, the computer scientist is going to a remote school as a Football Teacher, for the time being and the heroine, working for American clients is going to US for 3 years.. And they tread their opted respective paths, saying Goodbye in a dignified way, with a tinge of sadness ofcourse. Contrasting yet very realistic.

Looking back at times, now life is not the same, so as the self..

The pain of separation is on the both sides as Asha sings.

The best part of the song is the mood.. Bhupinder Singh gives it an ample tinge of melancholy and Vanraj Bhatia setups the ambiance specially with fantastic use of PIANO.. and what an entry by Asha Bhosle with "रात उदास नज़्म लगती है" in the second half.... But not to forget the words of Gulzar, that makes the song very very special.. and one of my top favorites.. Kudos to Prakash Jha too for handling this song excellently on screen
